Welton were dominant in most phases of an exciting game but had to give the visitors respect as Longwell Green were often dangerous going forward. After the previous day's heavy rain, the pitch was heavy, but straight from the kick-off James Billings did well when he ran at the defence and fired in a great shot that visiting keeper Mark Britton did well to save. Longwell Green responded and a good run into the Welton box by Chris Always was eventually cleared by the Welton defence for a corner.

HALLEN have reinforced their defensive ranks with the capture of Cadbury Heath's Tarik Whitcliffe. The burly centre-half, who has performed for a string of local clubs, including Tytherington Rocks and Bishop Sutton, made an impressive bow in Wednesday's 2-1 home victory over Larkhall Athletic and is set to continue at Wellington tomorrow. Hallen are without Bob Pritchard for the trip.

Lee Lashenko says the return of Sam Bailey can add thrust to Bishop Sutton's three-pronged trophy assault. The former Bristol City academy player is back from a three-month ban in time for the home clash with Bristol Manor Farm tomorrow. Sutton have risen to fourth spot on the back of one defeat from nine league outings, and Lashenko is glad to have Bailey, pictured above, available again to aid the players who have served him so well in the meantime.

Bitton have been playing every Saturday as normal so I'm hoping our lack of meaningful action doesn't have a detrimental impact on our game   -Mark Harrington

Frome Town and Yate Town shared the points in a 0-0 draw that never really came to life, extending the Robins' unbeaten league run to 11 games and producing their third clean sheet in seven days. With injuries and wedding commitments causing the loss of Callum Henry, Iain Carr, Joe Gomes, Alex Lapham and Matt Minnis, manager Darren Perrin started the match with Matt Peters moved to central midfield alongside new signing Jordan Metters. On a softish pitch that had recovered remarkably well from the sta

IAN Hutchinson hopes to extend the loan deal of Rushden & Diamonds teenager Jamie McGuinness beyond this month's FA Trophy tie. McGuinness, 19, has yet to taste defeat as a Terras player and the Weymouth boss is keen to keep the versatile player. "Jamie has done very well and we'll speak to Rushden maybe looking to extend his loan, but that hasn't been discussed yet," said Hutchinson.

Frome Town and Yate Town shared the points in a goalless Southern League South & West draw that never really came to life. The home side were first to show as Luke Ballinger had two long range efforts. Yate responded well, though, and Jamie Cheeseman was fortunate to only receive a yellow card when dragging back Adie Adams in the 13th minute.

JORDAN Metters could be the latest Weymouth player to try and re-ignite his season with a spell in Dave Kiteley's reserve side. Winger Matt Groves has forced his way back into the first team reckoning after a couple of impressive performances under Kiteley, and Metters will be hoping to make the same impression when the Terras' reserves host Westland Sports at the Wessex Stadium tomorrow (2pm). And Kiteley is expecting a good game between second-placed Weymouth and fourth-placed Westland.

It will be an outstanding game of football because Westland do play very good football and obviously we like to get it down and play   -Dave Kiteley

WEYMOUTH RESERVES 1 WINCANTON TOWN 1 AN equaliser from Ryan McKechnie helped preserve Weymouth's unbeaten record in the Dorset Premier League. The Terras' second string fell behind early in the second period at the Wessex Stadium last night but a predatory finish from McKechnie ensured a share of the spoils. Reserve-team boss Dave Kiteley was encouraged by the character shown from his table-toppers.

HAMPTON & RICHMOND 3 WEYMOUTH 0 WEYMOUTH suffered their eight defeat of the season at the Beveree Stadium and remain at the bottom of the Blue Square South table. Matt Townley, Martin Slocombe, Matt Cooper and Jordan Rose were left out after last week's FA Cup debacle at Bishops Cleeve while Andy Harris was unfit because of a knee injury Manager Matt Hale brought in new signing Simon Radcliffe, Chris Allen, Jordan Vincent and Scott Dixon to the starting line-up with Carl Foster, Jordan Metters and Matt B

WEYMOUTH RESERVES 3 BLANDFORD UNITED 1 WEYMOUTH Reserves continue to set the Dorset Premier League pace as they nonchalantly brushed aside Blandford United at the Wessex Stadium. The Terras' unrelenting juggernaut has shown no signs of being derailed and this latest success increases their advantage at the summit to two points. If anything the margin of victory flattered Blandford, who grabbed their consolation goal with practically the last kick of the game.

We were in control for most of the game and to be honest should have scored more than two goals in the first half.   -Dave Kiteley
